Technical Board
DOORDATA Solutions’ Technical Board is a select group of
acknowledged door and hardware industry experts who work
to guide DDS’ technical efforts as they relate to the
door and hardware industry’s standards, particularly
with regard to DHI’s Fire Door Assembly Inspection
(FDAI) program. Each member holds expertise in a
different area of the industry, which gives DDS a
greater understanding of its customers’ needs. The Board
helps guide product development by bringing together its
collective experiences and specialties and evaluating
software features and technical proposals by DDS’ user
groups and Advisory Board.

Mark
Lineberger, AHC/EHC
Certified Fire Door Inspector
Mark
is Vice President of Valley Doors & Hardware, Inc., a
family owned and operated commercial architectural
openings business that was established in 1883. Mark has
more than 25 years of experience in the business, with a
split between the retail and commercial divisions. He is
an Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) and Electrified
Hardware Consultant (EHC) who has
actively shaped the Door & Hardware Institute’s (DHI)
educational classes and the development of new programs.
His history with the organization dates back to 1997.
Currently, Mark serves on its Board of Governors
(2008-2011) and Education Council, for which he has
served for two years. He has been a volunteer DHI
instructor for a variety of classes for five years. Most
recently, he became certified as a Fire Door Inspector,
and he teaches DHI’s Fire Door Assembly Inspector (FDAI) certification courses. He also serves on the curriculum
review committees for numerous DHI classes. In 2006,
Mark received the Presidential Citation for
participating in the development of the certification
program for DHI’s electrified hardware classes. He also
served on the Electrified Hardware Certification Exam
Taskforce in 2005 and, in 2002, he was the recipient of
the DHI Education Foundation’s Lesniak Scholarship. He
earned recognition as outstanding student for
electrified hardware classes in 2002 and 2001. He is a
member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of
Eastern Pa., Inc. (ABC), and has been a part of its
training committee since 2007. Mark also is a member of
the International Code Council (ICC), the National Fire
Protection Agency (NFPA), and the Construction
Specification Institute (CSI). He is a past member of
the American Subcontractor’s Association of Central Pa.
(ASACP), and he and served on its Board of Directors
from 2001 through 2006. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree
from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. He enjoys
spending time with family and volunteers as a youth
soccer coach. He and his wife, Kelly, have two young
daughters, Amy and Molly.

Stephen Bettge, AHC
Steve recently retired as a Senior Associate and
Director of Life Safety & Hardware at NBBJ, a premiere
architectural firm headquartered in Seattle with offices
nationwide. His 38 years of experience and service as a
building code resource around the country has led Steve
to become known as “the code guru” throughout the
industry. He has participated in negotiations with
federal, state, and local building authorities and has
experience with all occupancy types, including extensive
experience with medical health facilities. Steve has
been recognized by the Washington State Fire Marshall
for his expertise as a code analyst. His expertise
includes interpreting, coordinating, and implementing
building codes and regulations relating to construction
and life safety. Through his association with building
officials, he has influenced several national and local
code changes that benefitted both the building and
hardware industries. He also had his hand in quality
control and field inspections with regard to life
safety, accessibility, fire codes, and specification
compliance. He has been a volunteer instructor for the
Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) for more than 25
years, primarily teaching the Codes and Standards
curriculum. Steve also was the head instructor for DHI's
"Architectural Hardware 3" program and several "Writing
Architectural Hardware Specifications" courses.
Currently, he teaches the Fire Door Assembly Inspector
(FDAI) certification courses. Steve earned a bachelor’s
degree in science from Purdue University and is a
certified Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) through DHI.
In addition, Steve’s credits include a long list of
published articles and lectures and, since 1973, he has presented
building code seminars for colleagues taking the
Architectural Registration Exam. He has
won many awards, including the prestigious George P.
Merrill Award, a highly coveted award that is one of the
top three awards granted by DHI to certified consultant
members. Steve has been active within the DHI Puget
Sound Chapter as head of the codes committee. As a code
liaison, he offered unbiased code interpretations to
building officials and responded to questions from those
in the building and hardware industries. Steve and his
wife, Pat, are enjoying retirement together. Their
interests include gardening, walking, traveling, and
spending time with their two children and three
grandchildren.

Lloyd
Seliber, CML, CDT
Lloyd owns and operates Keying Solutions, a company he
founded in 2008. Keying Solutions provides software,
project management, and specialized services for key
systems. The company helps building owners, contractors,
and hardware suppliers shorten implementation time and
reduce project cost when implementing new key systems. Lloyd has more than 30 years of
experience in the locksmithing business. He holds a
patent on the Master Key Checkerboard and has applied
for multiple U.S. patents on behalf of the companies for
which he has worked. During his career, Lloyd has served
the industry as a product manager, team manager,
training manager, and business development manager.
Since 2006, he has been a Master Keying Instructor for
the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) and the Door
and Hardware Institute (DHI). He got his start in the
industry in sales and commercial locksmithing and,
during this time, he also was a locksmith shop owner.
Lloyd has worked for DORMA, Ingersoll-Rand, and Schlage,
a division of Ingersoll-Rand Security Technologies. He
earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication and
graduated magna cum laude from Elizabethtown College in
Elizabethtown, Penn. Lloyd is a Certified
Construction Document Technologist (CDT) and a Certified
Master Locksmith (CML), and he holds California General
Contractors’ licenses, Class B and C61.

Steve
Wilson, AHC/EHC
Steve is founder and President of Western Entrance
Technology, LLC, located in Monroe, Wash. His long
career in the commercial door and hardware industry
spans more than 28 years with experience as a contract
hardware distributor, manufacturer, representative for
an independent door and hardware sales agency, and an
access control systems integrator. His expertise is in
electrified hardware, security access control, and
door automation. Steve earned his Architectural Hardware
Consultant (AHC) credential from the Door and Hardware
Institute (DHI) in 1991, and his Electrical Hardware
Consultant (EHC) credential in 2006. In 2007, Steve
passed the Fire Door Assembly Inspection (FDAI) program
with DHI. He is a member of the American Society for
Industrial Security (ASIS International) and an
inspector for the American Association of Automatic Door
Manufacturers (AAADM). He also holds a low-voltage
electrical license and a specialty contractor’s license
in Washington and California. Steve has been an active
member of the Door and Hardware Institute for 21 years.
He has volunteered for DHI as a national instructor for
the last 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoys being
home in the country with his wife, Alida, and their dog,
Oso. For fun, he likes to hike, mountain bike, and fish.

Alex
Domsky, CRL
Certified Fire Door Inspector
Alex Domsky is CEO and founder of Total Quality Services
(TQS), an industrial and commercial door and hardware
installation company that was established in 1985. He
recently founded Fire Door Inspection Specialists (FDIS).
FDIS provides annual fire door inspections to help its
clients maintain compliance with NFPA 80, 2007 edition,
and the Florida Building Code. Alex’s background with
doors and locking hardware spans more than 30 years, and
he has more than 20 years’ experience working in the
nuclear power industry. TQS has been installing doors
and hardware for commercial and industrial structures,
including schools and hospitals, for the last 15 years.
The company began resolving door and hardware challenges
at Florida’s five nuclear power plants, which are
operated by Florida Power & Light and Progress Energy.
Alex created the first preventative maintenance program
for specific door types and frequency-of-use at the St.
Lucie Power Plant. Currently, TQS is responsible for the inspection
of fire doors in all non-power generating areas at the
Turkey Point Nuclear Plant in Florida. He is a member of
the Door and Hardware Institute (DHI), the American
Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Associated
Locksmiths of America (ALOA), and the National Fire
Protection Agency (NFPA) as well as its Industrial Fire
Protection division. Alex has been a Certified
Registered Locksmith (CRL) with ALOA since 1990. Most
recently, he became a Certified Fire Door Inspector. He
was factory trained by most major manufacturers
including Best and Ingersoll-Rand. He’s also been a DHI
student for training classes related to door and
hardware applications and installations, and business
courses. Alex enjoys spending time with his family in
Stuart, Fla., and keeping fit by playing golf and bike
riding. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 20
years. They have a son, Alex, who is in his first year
of college, and a daughter, Kristy, who resides in
California with her husband and new baby.
